Top 5 Destinations of Java Island ,Travel Indonesia

Java is often overlooked for its much more popular neighbour, Bali. But those who have the time and patience to explore this most populated island in Indonesia, will be handsomely rewarded.
The following are the top 5 destinations that any visitors to Java would not want to miss (allow 2-3 weeks).

Bromo Mountain - East Java
Located in East Java, Bromo is an active volcano surrounded by desert like landscape. The darings can peek into the mouth of the volcano itself to see the origin of the bellowing grey smoke. Rent a 4x4 jeep in the early morning to catch a sunrise peeking over the Bromo volcanic cones and go on a horseback riding around the village.

Yogyakarta - Central Java
Yogyakarta is arguably the cultural center of the island. Here, the tradition of shadow puppets, batik making, arts and crafts, music and dance are not only alive but encouraged. The main tourist attractions are located around or along Malioboro Street and the sultan's palace where you can watch artisans making their crafts, shopping for batik cloths, silver jewelleries or catch a theatrical show or two.

Kawah Ijen - East Java
Kawah Ijen (or Ijen Crater) is an active volcanic crater that also functions as a sulfur mine. It is located in Ijen National Park in East java.
The beautifu blue-green coloredl lake and its breathtaking surrounding landscape stand in stark contrast with the yellow of the sulfur and the miners who have to transport the sulfur by manual labor to the top of the crater.

Ujung Kulon - West java
Ujung Kulon National Park is a UNESCO Heritage site located on the western most point of the island. Here you can find the last remaining population of the critically endangered Javanese rhinos. Along with its natural beauty and the chance of sightings many of the endangered animals, you can also catch a glimpse of the infamouse Krakatoa volcano whose eruption in 1883 was the largest ever recorded.

Borobudur and Prambanan Temples
They're both can be done as a day trip from Yogyakarta. These relics from the time when both Hinduism and Buddhism were the dominating religions in the area are impressive. It's even more amazing if you think of all the events that they have survived, from terrorism attacks to volcano eruptions.
Java can offer anything and everything to travelers. From big cities amenities, cultures, and natural beauties. Give it a chance and you might grow to love it too.
